All I have to say about this product is that it shouldn’t be used in anyones head. I purchased the product without reading the label like an idiot and found that it contains the notorious mineral oil, A.K.A. paraffinum liquidum - a cheap oil used in cosmetic products that inhibits the absorption of moisture and causes dryness and breakage. No wonder this product contains the word “instant” on it’s label! Mineral oil which is actually the second ingredient in the product after it list it’s long list of the “African Pride Herbal Complex” is nothing more than a lubricant so this is why products that contain this ingredient make hair feel greasy and look shiny.

You’re better off using this product on a synthetic wig or hair piece to give it shine, but don’t use it in your hair EVER! For more information about caring for your hair please visit the Hair Care section of this site.

I remember when I first saw this infomercial about how Youthful Essence could help even out my skin tone. I had terrible blemishes from using liquid foundation back before I started using mineral foundation and the microdermabrasion kit was presented to me as the cure.

The microdermabrasion was gentle on my skin and I even used it on my body. My skin was soft and succulent after I used it. My favorite part of the skin care regimen was the facial wash. It was so delicate and refreshing and seemed to make my skin glow.

This is really great product. It’s gentle and it doesn’t irritate the skin at all. You can use it on your body too to reduce scars and stretch marks!

I always use the Organic Root Stimulator Elastic-I-Tea with Green Tea when I braid my hair while wet for my exclusive wavy look and my hair hardly ever breaks!

My hair used to break even if I conditioned it with a deep conditioner if I tried to braid my hair while it was wet because hair is so fragile when wet. This product is a must have for all women with relaxed hair!!

It makes my hair really soft, shiny, and strong unlike most leave in conditioners that leave the hair dry and hard. This is an excellent product.

The Murad Skin Perfecting lotion is excellent for all skin types because it gives the right amount of moisture without over doing it. I have normal/combo skin and my skin feels soft and supple with no greasy feel or shiny look! Murad’s lotion eliminates dry patches on the skin, but it also seems to reduce the pores which is great, especially before applying makeup! It doesn’t have a strong odor and you can forget about this lotion clogging your pores because it won’t!

I love Murad’s facial moisturizer and I don’t think I’ll be putting anything else on my face!

I used the Mabeline foundation back before I ever knew about the Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals Foundation. This foundation made my skin a complete nightmare. My face constantly broke out and I had to constantly use concealers and acne treatments to conceal the blemishes and to prevent more breakouts which always reoccurred.

I never knew this makeup was the cause of my breakouts until I stopped using it. The breaks outs then stopped, but I was left with terrible blemishes that took probably a year and a half to fade. I now use Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals foundation and I’ve hadn’t had one breakout ever since.

I will never recommend the Mabeline Liquid Foundation. It clogs pores and causes breakouts and blemishes.

I tried this makeup to help make my stretchmarks on my abdomen blend better with my skin since they are lighter in color so I can wear a bikini or be comfortable wearing lingerie.

First it is very hard to find colors that work for every skin tone. I am more of a warm bronze color and the Dermablend collection carries a very limited variety of colors for women of color. We are actually limited to Walnut (a yellowish brown color for yellow undertones), Bronze (Very chalky brown color), Dark (Deep brown color with a reddish undertone). Now I know that their isn’t just three different shades of brown within people of color. The colors are very un-natural and don’t blend with the skin well. I’ve tried every brown color with no match. Maybe you’d have better luck by mixing 2 colors to find a color perfect for your skin tone.

It also tells you to apply the setting powder which not only does this stuff not work, but it makes the makeup look very dry and chalky. The makeup still rubbed off on my clothes even after I let it dry for ten minutes, let the setting powder dry for a few minutes and brushed it off.

This product is absolutely awful and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Back in 2004 I tried this product because I was constantly breaking out in my T-Zone area. Little did I know it was the foundation I was using on my face that was causing the breakouts.

I ordered Proactiv Solution and used the cleanser, toner, and lotion. The products made my face feel fresh and clean without drying it out and the toner seemed to brighten my skin, but I was still having the breakouts…especially on my nose so I tried the mask and it dried my skin out so bad I looked like a 90 year old woman! I kept slathering on lotion, but nothing worked! I was so embarrassed and it took my skin a couple days before it looked normal again.

As a result I called Proactiv demanding a refund and they did refund my money as promised within the first 60 days after purchase. According to them my skin must be too sensitive for their products, but I don’t think that was the case. Their sulfur mask is too intense for anyones skin. I believe that this must have been a problem because I’ve noticed that they now suggest to use the mask only on acne spots, but not the whole face.

Overall their products seemed to be fine except the sulfur mask. If you purchase this product never apply Proactiv’s sulfur mask over your entire face.

This product actually cleared up the razor burn and ingrown hairs I had from years of shaving and trying out products that claimed to stop the bumps with no avail. You have to use it 2 times a day until all the bumps have cleared up and then use it every time after you shave to prevent future occurrences.

It stings, but it does the job. I still was having breakouts every now and then so now I no longer shave, but use a depilatory formulated for the bikini area to remove hair. I really don’t have a need for this product anymore, but if you have razor burn and ingrown hairs right now you should consider purchasing the Tend Skin Liquid to clear up the problem.

Trust me when I say this I’ve tried them all: Bikini Zone, Secret Shave, etc. Nothing else works, but this stuff!
